the 43.xx series worked really well under win9x, it was generally the fastest driver for the old GF3TI and GF4TI cards, anything later tended to have a large performance drop.

Yeah, 81.98 is the one I installed last and the problem remains the same. Black screen with white mouse cursor. I moved the VGA video from one of my 19" LCD's to the other, same thing. I'll try a 43.xx if I can find it. I'll start looking now. If you know where, please post....

I've been trying to locate the 43.xx video drivers, no luck. The best lead seems to be http://www.guru3d.com, but I can't hit the page. Can you hit it? I've been trying unsuccessfully for an hour or two.

Poking around on my other system some I found that I do have 45.23_win9x_international.exe

I'm going to give it a try but I'm not optimistic. I think I may have to reinstall Win98, what a hassle. I wouldn't mind so much if I wasn't apprehensive about my system configuration. I don't know if reinstall will work. It just might screw up the system. I have

C: FAT boot partition
D: FAT data partition
E: Win98SE
F: Windows NT 4.0
G: Windows 2000 Pro

That's all on one HD. I don't know if I can reinstall Win98SE on E and have everything working. Bummer.

Same problem with 45.xx installed... It's obviously going to happen with any driver. There's something screwed up in the OS.

So, you have a dual-boot configuration. Does this card work fine when you're running Win 2K?

Yeah, I think so. Actually it's a tri-boot configuration:

W98SE
WinNT 4.0
Win2000
