I am installing windows98 for a friend on a new hard drive. unfortunately i don't have a win98 boot disk. I am running windowsxp and i know of no way to create a 98boot disk.

can anyone help me? i am assuming the boot disk isn't special, it just has right files. perhaps someone could create a 98disk and then upload those files for me? please? or maybe someone already has.

the disk doesn't seem to work that i made...
can you give me a direct link to a win98 boot disk?

i wish i was isntalling xp instead of 98, that boots off the cd.

Win 98 Boot disk does not have CD-ROM support, try a Win 98se boot disk as this will allow you to install from CD-ROM.

AUGH it lost my post!
AUGH i can't get win98 to install!

i made a 98se boot disk and the computer starts to dos an does it's special boot disk things. but when it looks at the cd-rom (98se disk) it doesn't show a setup.exe.

and when i try to open something on D: or A: cd-rom/floppy it says it can't access E: !
farking stupid... whatever is causing the problem!

i can't tell you much more than that. but if anyone out there can give me some hints or insights, please do.
