My daughter just moved to Italy to teach in Milan. I need to get a webcam so that I may keep in touch with her via Skype video chat.

I know nothing about webcams. Would appreciate it greatly if some of you techno gurus can suggest a decent reliable cam for me. I don't need 12 MP resolution .....just something decent and user friendly without a lot of lag.

I would prefer something with a decent onboard mic as well.

Thanks in advance for your help! :)

I use Microsoft Lifecam Cinema for international Skype calls, works pretty good. Just ~$40 on Amazon, but its been out for awhile so maybe there is already something better for the price. For best performance with it, I would suggest at least a Core 2 Duo CPU and 2GB of RAM.

Thanks for the responses.....I was looking at that and the Logitech C910 or C920. It's funny the older model is more expensive than the new C920. While I don't actually need 1080p for my purposes I suppose in the future it would be nice to have.

I read in several reviews that the LifeCam autofocus is a bit too sensitive and is an issue. Any comments on that?
