Need webcam for Skype VideoChat

My daughter moved to Milan, Italy to teach school. My wife and I need a webcam for Skype videochat to keep in contact with her now. I have never owned a webcam before and I know nothing about them. I would like some suggestions as to what I need please. I really don't need all the bells and whistles just a solid cam with a good picture.

I have a desktop computer with a Core 2 Duo processor running at 3.0Mhz with 4 Gig ram.

I really have no need for 1080P capability at this point. I would like something with good audio quality and a decent picture. The Microsoft LifeCams were suggested but I read their autofocus is really flakey. There are so many Logitech models it's confusing.

Any help would be appreciated.

You're correct about not needing 1080 for a web cam.
720 @ 60fps would be great.
The more fps, the more fluid the motion capture.
1080 @ 30fps Sux

Recently bought a Logitech c310 [0], for family friend and works great. Can be found much cheaper elsewhere, like newegg and every few months it goes for ~$30.

I have this same webcam. It's been excellent for a year now with great autofocus and color correction. My GF would recommend.
