Ive tried everything, but I can't seem to enable DMA in w2k for my new TDK 12/10/32 and my Toshiba DVD. Ive got UDMA enabled on my first IDE channel, but it wont kick on for the second one. Its definately enabled in my BIOS, but I cant get a good look at the hardware info screen to make sure that the BIOS is detecting them as DMA, it scrolls by too fast, and I cant find the key to pause it anywhere. Its enabled in the pull down, but all I'm getting is PIO. I did the little jumper trick on the TDK, so its not that either . So, Im kinda looking for suggestions, Ive already uninstalled the secondary IDE channel from the device manager, but that didnt work, and I cant find any documents using the search... most peoples problems seem... less unique. Im stuck, any help would be much appreciated.

Your burner is more than likely... like many, it runs in pio mode. Most DVD players are udma33. To get the screen to stop long enough during loading hit the pause/break key. To get it to continue, hit the escape key...

Nope I know for absolutely sure that the TDK is DMA, in fact thats what the jumper in the back of the drive is, and there have been several posts about people getting the burner to run in DMA, I think its kind of silly to make something so dependant on CPU usage to use MORE CPU power inherently, but then the computer industry isnt always logical. And even if the burner wasnt DMA, I still cant get the DVD to go DMA.
