Need video editing gurus' help......

I have three 3.76GB .avi (DV captured) files that i need to edit(join 3 of them together and cut some scene here and there) and compress the final movie to either mpeg4 using divx(any other recommendation? need to burn to CD-R so hopefully not too big of file size with best quality).


What software is the best for this task with fastest performance?? 🙂

I recommend adobe premiere 6.5
