I'm currently running a BFG 6600GT OC on a Asus SLI-Premium with a 2.7ghz venice.

I use a Dell 2405FPW, so I run all my games at 1920x1200

I'd like to upgrade my graphics card within the next month or so, for under 400 bucks should I:

a) Buy another 6600GT for ~150
b) Sell/Give my 6600GT to someone else and buy one or two new videocards.
(7800GT, dual 6800GS, something else)

I would at least wait for the X1900/7900 generation to come out before making a decision on which card to buy. ATI's X1900s is supposed to come out by late this month, early next month. Nvidia's 7900 are supposed to come out late February, early March. Hopefully they should be significantly more powerful than any cards on the market right now. If you had to make a choice right now though, I would go for one 7800 GT (unfortunately, SLI is out of budget for 7800 GTs since two of them cost about $600.)

I knew that nVidia and ATi have next generation products, but I wasn't sure how soon they would be released.

When the next generation of cards comes out, sell your 6600GT and get a 7800GT. The prices for them probably should drop when the new stuff comes out, and if they're cheap enough you can buy 2 7800GT's and SLI them.

Good advice as well, but don't think of seeing/buying them sub-$ 200 IMO...

OP did say sub $400, so 7800GT's are currently the way to go.

Thats exactly what I'm doing & I think its a good idea... at the very least prices will drop quite a bit then & you'll get a better deal!
