First of all thank you for reading this, I really need your help. About a year ago i installed a Sapphire X1650 video card in my computer. I only did this so that i could download movies and watch them on my tv. Im not playing any games. when i got it all hooked up it was working fine, movies showed up on my tv with no problems. I had no problems with the Catalyst control center. I havent watched any movies in three months and when i tried to, it didnt work. The Catalyst control center would not even come up. I would click on CCC and the hour glass would flash and nothing would happen. I uninstalled the CCC drivers and loaded new ones that i found on the internet. I now can bring up the CCC. I did the basic set up in the CCC to switch my secondary device to my tv. I did the same things as i did a year ago when it worked. as of right now i can see my background image that i have on my computer on my tv. when i hit the i dentify button, #1 shows up on my computer screen and #2 shows up on my tv. (I do have to hit the input button on my tv) When i try playing the movie using windows midea player (the same that i used a year ago) i can only hear the sound on my tv. The picture is still the background picture of my computer, but i can see the movie on my computer. I tried playing around with the settings and nothing worked. So in a nutshell audio on tv while playing a movie is good. no video on tv while playing movie, only computer background picture. but movie plays fine on my computer. I know this is a long post, thank you agian for reading this. am i missing something? any help would be great, this is really frustrating.

i have been doing some looking and i think but im not sure its a overlay problem. does anyone know how to change this so the movie automaticly starts on my tv??

your current setup would then be using your tv as an extended display... if so then your video sttings also in ccc should be set to display in full screen mode on secondary device which by the way is not properly supported by windows media player so if thats what you using then try another edia player
OR.... just set your secondary display to clone :) easiest way of doing that would be to use the basic setup and follow instructions
