I have an XFX 7600GS that's getting a little long in the tooth. My rig is a Shuttle XPC that I'm using as an HTPC (hooked up to a 36" LCD pushing 1366x768). This card's been perfect for watching xvids and Half-Life 2/CS:Source--but now I'm looking for something that does accelerated HD video (for Blu-Ray), can perform well up to 1920x1080, and with DirectX 10. If possible, I'd like to get fanless card, and it really needs to be single slot, half-length, without any large protrusions due to the case size.
I was looking for an 8800GS or GT but I haven't found anything that fits my requirements. I don't know much about ATI's 3xxx series, but I've seen some 3650 boards that are small, passively cooled, and cheap. Does anyone have experience with this? Let me reiterate that gaming isn't a primary concern, but I do want a substantial improvement over my 7600gs.
