need video card for $2-300

i need a vid card for around 2 or 300 dollars

theres just too many to choose from on newegg...i was looking at the X1950Pro or a 7950GT

but then theres tons of different brand of each such as evga, saphire, radeon extc

any help, some gaming occasionaly but would just like to have a nice card

If you game occasionally, get the X1950Pro. It's a great card at a lower price (at the cost of some performance) than the 7950GT. Don't worry too much about the brand with ATi, theres no one manufacturer that really stands out with them. However, if you buy the 7950GT, get the eVGA one. They are pretty much the best with XFX in a close second.

$125 to $150 x1650xt if you play game sometime and don't mind playing with on mid setting on not ultra high res.
$180 to $200 x1950pro if you play alot of game but on the budget
$200 to $210 X1900XT 256mb or X1950XT 256mb if you can find them for $220 below then they are worth it as they can destroy X1950pro easy

$300 8800GTS your entry to DX10 and will let you play most game on high res with everything turned up
