I'm looking for the vid card that would be just right for my divx box.

3D is not necessary, and will be practically useless. TV-out has to be the best it can be. Needs to be PCI.

Even though its being hooked up to a tv, I'd like to be able to use it as a tivo, so are there any cards with a tv-tuner, s-video out, and tivo capabilites?

And it needs to support Win 2000/XP, cause I'm not using that garbage 9X.

Its mainly to be used to watch divx AND dvd, so I cant have any of that macrovision stuff. Hooking it up straight to the TV.

So whats the best PCI card solely for Tv-out, and whats the best one with a tuner and tivo as well?

Only have one free PCI slot, so it all has to be on one card.

d00d, just get a PCI AIW radeon.. or if you REALLY don't need the 3d.. find a cheaper PCI ATI AIW card (maybe the rage128)..
ATI's DVD decoding is beautiful.

BE WARNED...................... The ATI TV tuner does not work well at all with WinXP. I have two machines and the PIII has the ATI All-In-Wonder 128 PCI (this is what I recommend for you) but I run it with WinME (looking forward to reformatting and going back to Win 98SE for this machine) and TV tunning and tv out is very clear. But.............On my new AMD machine that has WinXP , I had to uninstall the ATI TV wonder (TV tunning was really bad) and replace it with the Leadtek Winfast 2000tv XP (the result is far superior).

What you want is SigmaDesigns new Xcard. It has built-in divx decoding, beautiful tv out, 10-bit hardware dvd, remote, etc. It lists for $99.

It's not a video card, though, nor a TV tuner / Tivo type card. It's just a great dvd/divx hardware solution with great output.

1 pci slot eh, I'd go w/ joint. get a ati aiw. There is a ati aiw 32mb pci radeon but it's gonna cost you =p . If ATI's drivers don't work well on your machine though, you're screwed. =0

Voodoo 3 3K might do it too, but I'm not super impressed with the tv out on mine, but I was using a really crappy and long coax cable.
