Need vacation advice for Lake Tahoe

I am planning to go the Lake Tahoe for a week in the 2nd or 3rd week of Dec. It will be a group of four people. I am interested in the north side, probably flying into San Francisco (but not necessarily). I was looking at their website and found that there are 11 neighborhoods to choose from. So which one is the best I am not interested in lot of activities my main aim is to get a nice and beautiful secluded/quite place with a breathtaking/picturesque view probably rent a cabin or condo or something like that and just relax for a week. Budget is in the ballpark of 300/day for 4 ppl.

I love Lake Tahoe... I only know there's a bunch of places on the south side (Camp Richardson, Meeks Bay, Crystal Bay, Incline Village, etc).

Why flying into SF and not Reno? Although that is a pretty drive from SF - Tahoe, it's 4 hours, in the snow.

It's hell when it snows. If you pick a clear weekend the drive is not so bad, but when it snows you can have fun in those 8 hr traffic jams.

Tahoe is nice, i have been there too often though, i live just 70 miles from tahoe

Personally, if I would recommend staying on the south side. It's a very nice place and Heavenly rocks.
