Need urgent suggestions

Hey guyz...
I have an old pc.From last a week or so, it suddenly started giving hardware related Windows BCCodes(like 116, 124) out of the blue. It started with not detecting the GPU(which i surely know is working fine), then parity circuit error beeps, etc.
But still it worked fine after reinstalling the components.
Last night, it has stopped booting itself.
After I press the power-on button, front panel led lights up, fans start spinning but then after 2-3 seconds everything stops without rebooting(no POST, no BIOS SCREEN, no beep codes).
My best guess is that the motherboard is dead. I don't have alternate motherboard to test.
Can you guys suggest whats going on?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.

You don't give much to go on, and this should be in Computer Help section. That being said, it could be your power supply.

You can Google the Bug Check codes to get a better idea

eg 124 - http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...4/c99836d3-a8cb-46f1-92fe-ae512967a70f?auth=1

Check if your CPU is overheating. Clean out the CPU cooler to make it run better

eg 116 - http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...code-116/70bda113-799b-4b9d-ae50-ca570136e7f8

Update your graphics card drivers.

If that fails then connect an internal speaker to your motherboard (per the manual) and see what post/beep code you get per http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm

I'd visually inspect the capacitors on the motherboard for visible damage
Also if you have another psu I'd recommend trying that, as mentioned above.
How old is this computer ? what mb/cpu ? etc.
