i have make a silly mistake and hope there is someone with some tricks that can help me..on my system i have a 500gb HDD and 2xWD640AASK(RAID 0)

boot priority in bios is such that the 500gb HDD is 1st disk and the 2xWD640AASK in RAID 0(volume intel) is 2nd disk..

i have installed window xp first on the 500gb hdd first after that i install a copy of vista ultimatex64 one the RAID0(volume intel) that had me a dual boot system. however today i decided to uninstall the window xp as i rarely boot into the xp so i went on and formated the 500GB hdd...however after i formatted the 500GB HDD my vista refuse to boot up..the systems is unable to recognize any bootable medium. i think its becos the vista bootloader was on the 500GB HDD previously as it was the 1st disk in my bios setting..now is there anyway to salvage the situation?

i have tried using the vista boot dvd to repair..however it doesn't seem to detect the vista as it is on the raid 0 array i guess..can anyone help me out on this??

for info the RAID 0 is done my mobo RAID controller..its intel ICH9R...

Your problem is the main boot sector was on the 500Gb drive. Reformating the drive killed the boot sector so now the system doesn't know what to do and can't boot into any OS.

Have you tried to perform a repair install? If that doesn't work then i don't know what will.

i have tried performing a repair install..in order to repair install the vista boot dvd require you to select a target drive(the drive where the vista is installed on)to repair..however the raid ) is not an available option.

Then it seams your raid has crashed. That being the case all you can do is start over. Recovering your data isn't much of an option. You should alwyas maintain a good backup of a raid 0 aray,
