Need urgent help with Pioneer DVD...please just a yes or no

I bought a DVD kit with a H+ and the Pioneer 104 slot drive and now I've just sold my Pioneer to a friend, and he says that it can not find the Hollywood plus card.

Does the pioneer only work with H+ or should it work with any type of Hardware decodercards???.

I patched it to be regionfree does that have anything to say???. Should it be repatched with his decoder card pluged in???
