Need (urgent) help in selecting the correct Radeon 8500 card

I will be attending a Market Pro computer show tomorrow and I'm hoping to purchase a Radeon 8500 card there. I would like to find the one that people are buying off of newegg for $99 but I'm worried that since there are so many other "flavors" of the 8500 I might pick the wrong one. Does anyone know what kind of box or markings I should look for? Is the core / memory speed written on the box? If they let me open it, how can I identify that it's the correct card (also - how do I know what the RAM speed is by looking at the chips?).

The card at newegg is clocked at 250/275 with 3.3ns Hynix RAM. Normally I would just order from newegg but I'm really trying to keep things off of my credit card. If I can go to the show and just pay cash it'd be a heck of alot easier.

So if anyone can help me out I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

If newegg has exactly what you want then I would recommend getting it from newegg and make a payment to your credit card. However if you must go to the show search this for 8500. I remember someone posting how to know the video card is made by ATI or if it's another manufactures. I assume you want the ATI one, better support, higher clock and ocing.

Also, these cards don't have heatsinks on the ram so you should be able to see the type and speed of the ram. Clock settings...don't know how to tell this unless it's marked on the box.

Good Luck!

As long as you make sure it's an ATI card, and not some 3rd party OEM, you should be fine. Just remember you want the Radeon 8500LE.
