I have a friend of the families ASUS C213 Chromebook (The flip / touchscreen with the robust casing).
I was asked to swap out the battery because it wasn't holding charge long enough.
I safely "using the ESD, and Dangerous goods procedures" removed the old battery. On visual inspection I noted that one of the Cells had swollen up to point of almost bursting.
Very carefully swapped it for a new one, but now all I get is a constant flashing AMBER LED.
Things I have tried:
1) Plugging the OEM USB-C charger pack and leaving for 30 mins to 2 Hrs,
2) Leaving connected to USB-C for 12Hrs,
3) Disconnected the USB-C charger, and plug it back in, then disconnected it again a further 4 times,
4) Held the Power button for 10 seconds,
5) Disconnected the USB-C charger and the battery, then held the Power button for 20 seconds before plugging the battery back in.
6) I have even just tried to connect the USB-C WITHOUT a battery installed but...
I get NO display on screen.
I also read somewhere, to do a Hard Reset, but I do not see anything on display.
Any help would be kindly appreciated....
I could really do with the Boardview file or Schematic diagram if at all available (or one of similar model which uses the same Motherboard, because I might need to check for some points on the board for possible shorts
Thanks again
