System is in my signature.
I figure I can get by with a 500-600W UPS easily,
and all I want it to do is last 1-2 minutes allowing the system to auto-shutdown.
I don't need the fanciest power conditioning out there, but I do not want a Piece o' shit that sends surges to the battery.
First of all, do I just set vista to auto-shutdown on battery usage in the power settings, or do I need a 3rd party software to initiate auto-shutdown?
My budget for this is $100 before tax+shipping, the lower the better. Preferably $100 AFTER tax and shipping. (USD)
No brand preference, as long as it is a reputable brand.
If you think I don't need that many watts, then say so.
I have searched for hours for UPS's and I am back where I started, I have never purchased one but I am more serious about data protection now.
