gonna give him $100 if it doesn't?
What are you gonna give him for advising he continue playing games on his 5600 at unsatisfactory framerates and/or IQ settings? A knowing wink?

Way to refute my points. Sorry, I'm not an insurance company. My advice costs as much as yours. The only difference is, mine is backed up by every available review and benchmark score out there. Yeah, they're _all_ sell-outs looking to con DP. Even AT wants to sucker you! Don't look, it's a trick! Nothing, but, lies.

You think 10 months of gaming at either higher framerates or nicer quality isn't worth $50, that's a valid (if stingy) opinion. But you haven't yet shown that he won't gain either higher framerates or nicer image quality (via higher resolution, AA+AF, or better in-game effects) by upgrading his 5600. I'm guessing that's because you can't, but I'll admit I'm wrong if you'll provide or link some proof.

Anyway, DP, all I'll say is maybe consider a X700 or 6600GT instead of a 9800P for BF2...unless GS fubarred that test, as I tried the BF2 demo with my 9800P and it definitely played at above 1-4fps. I believe GS's results are a fluke, though. A 9800P should perform closer to the X700P than the X600XT in FS's review.

But for HL2 and WoW your CPU is fast enough to at least show nicer image quality with a faster card.

OK, that's enough speculating on a $50 upgrade. DP, I think you've got more than enough material with which to make an informed decision. Cheers.
