I've got 2 pc's at home , the older one being a p3 500 (Katmai, 512kb l2cache) on an Abit BE-6 2 . I want to eventually put a faster cpu into that mobo.
I really don't know if I want to put in a 133 FSB p3 in there and end up with an oc'd agp slot but it seems that 100 mhz FSB p3's are almost impossible to find and still expensive. I was looking at the Celeron 1.1 ghz and was wondering if it was still using the older .18 process , the Celeron 1.2's are the first based on the Tualatin right ?
The Celeron seemed relatively inexpensive and from a p3 500 would still be a decent upgrade , I'd need a slotket adapter but I don't think I can avoid that purchase now unless I can luck out and find a slot1 p3 for cheap somewhere.
Anyone got any advice on my best upg. path ?
