i want to add a TV-tuner to my Athlon 1.4

CompUSA is currently running a deal (that ends today) for an ATI All-in-Wonder 128 16 MB PCI for 49.99

i already have a good AGP card in the machine so I cant really consider the Radeo 8500 All-in-Wonder, which is really expensive anyway.

i also have a DVD drive in there, so the hardware DVD player of the ATI would be nice, and the ability to use another monitor would be nice too.

I'm just wondering if any of you know of any better deals as far as the price to quality ratio. The only quality im really concerned about is quality of video capture, video out display, and DVD playback, since I already have an AGP card for gaming etc. I would just get a TV-tuner card only, but this seems like a really good price, and I dont know of any Tuners that also have DVD (but i would consider a better Tuner at a good price).

comparing to other All-in-Wonders like the 128 Pro and the Radeon standard (comparison at http://www.ati.com/na/pages/faq/aiwfaq.html#1), the only diffs are no flat panel support (i dont have a flat panel and if i did id buy a primary vid card that supports it), and no dolby digital output (i have a SB Live 5.1 and i dont really care about this anyway. But maybe there are some other differences in terms of quality or whatnot that you may know of?

so anyway, anyone know of a standalone TV-tuner or another All-in-Wonder that offers a better price-performance ratio and/or more better features?

thanks!

...and i was looking at ATI's other tuners and they dont do MPEG-2 and theres that seemingly sweet $50 price (with rebates)... pricewatch shows same card AllinWonder 128 Card for $99

Also, the card with rebate is a 16 MB version and does come in a 32 MB version. does memory matter much if im only going to be using it mostly as a Tuner/DVD playback?

i only have 5 more hours to get it so speedy answers appreciated :D

Well I went and looked at ATi's webpage and for the money it is definitely a good card. ATi makes cards that are good in the multimedia department like this one is so it should do the job you want just fine. It'll also be nice if you have a spare monitor to hook it up and have another, always nice to have two :). So if you haven't gone out and bought it yet it does appear to be worth it.
