Need Topic Ideas

I am writing an argumentative paper for English, and I need a topic, but the problem here is that since I go to a Catholic school, I can't do a topic dealing with morality such as abortion.


Any ideas would surely help me succeed! Thanks!

Please keep them sane and within reason. I don't want the usual crazy ATOT response.

Edit:
The topic should be able to easily provide me enough information to argue both sides.

Was Columbus an imperialist?
Was the Monroe Doctrine the proper course for young America?

Great ideas, but since I do not know much about them, it would be rather hard for me to gather up the information needed to write the paper.
