 I have a Pentium III 450 Mhz IBM-compatible (non-IBM), 64 MB SDRram (Dimm), 8.4 GB HD, 3.5" Floppy Drive, Cd-Rom Drive (48x), Video Card - 1MB, SVGA 15" monitor, Modem 56K bps, 101-key keyboard, PS/2 mouse and inkjet printer. The existing motherboard can expand to 600 Mhz; has 2 dimm slots; 4 pci slots and AGP slot. It does not have USB on the board.
I need to upgrade to a Pentium IV (faster CPU larger HD, able to accomodate a scanner & photo quality color printer. Windows XP, graphics software, internet access, e-mail; browsing; searches and download; and games. I also need it to allow future upgrades. Thanks for all your help!

I wouldn't call it upgrade anymore... i think you're aiming for a new computer. How much are you planning to spend?

Hi,
These are the components I have ordered and will put together:

Antec SX635 case
Epox EP-8KHA+ motherboard
AMD XP 1600+
Crucial 256 DDR RAM
LiteOn 16/10/40 CD-RW
Soundblaster 5.1 Live
Internal zip drive
Floppy drive
Geforce MX200 32 MB
WD 40 GIG 7200 hard drive

Shipped for a tad under $800

I'd pull the CD ROM, floppy and reuse. Pull the hard drive as a second hard drive. Use the existing keyboard and mouse. But a good 17 or 19 in monitor.
