Hello , im really thinking of update my cpu for gaming and other stuff....

But should i buy a fx60 or keep my 3200+ overclocked for a while and change everything from scratch in a couple of month?

Help!!!

Im stressing , lol . 😕

My system :

A8N-SLI
3200+ winchester oc
2* 1 gig corsair TWINX2048-3200C2PT
2 * raptor 10 000 rpm
1 * 80 gig
2 * 6600gt sli ----> next update
500w enermax liberty

blah , blah, blah....

Thx Tidoy

I'd say the main thing is your video cards, what do you mean with the "next update"? For gaming, change those for something more modern. If you're thinking of upgrading everything, get a good video card now and then you can get everything else in a few months like you said. Changing the video card is gonna make the most difference.

Yes, but i play a couple of game of supreme commander , it was laggy as hell...

And ive play it on my laptop who got a core duo cpu with go7600 gpu and the game was pretty more smooth... I thinking that was the cpu.

And the s939 fx60 is now at a verry good price and they coming to be rare...:|

That why that my first move and next is gpu because i wait a little bit for direct10 card...

Thx

What moosey says is correct but you might want to pickup a dual core 939 chip while you still can (they are currently being phased out). A 3800+ X2 or equlivant Opteron would be a good choice.

For the video card; stay away from SLi and simply upgrade to single faster card. Something like a 7900GT would be a nice jump.

3800 x2 - $109
some flavor of a 7900 - $150-200

You could go better on the CPU, but I wouldn't go past the 7900 series for a graphics card.

Just remember that whatever money you're putting into socket 939 is going to a dead platform. At least you can migrate a video card to the new system. I'd really take that into consideration especially since it seems like you're considering building from scratch in a few months.

Yea , but this is my problem.

I have no problem to buy a fx60 and a 8800gts if i know im gonna be ok for 1 or 2 years to play games....

But i dont know if im gonna be ok in 1 years with a fx60 cpu .....

That why, but im tired of low graphics, i want to crank it up🙂

I'd just wait 6 months or so and just do a completely new build. Like it or not, S939 is dead. Other than a video card, nothing expensive will carry over if you decide to get a new AM2/C2D processor. I have a 3200+ too with a 7600gt, which is still good, but starting to show its age (processor that is). Supreme Commander and other RTS games are more CPU based than GPU, so you're right there.

Right now, your options are pretty bad. You want to wait for a DX10 card, so if you got an FX60, it will be bottlenecked REALLY bad by the 6600s; likely to the point of being useless (ok, that's stretching it). Even so, C2Ds can still beat the FX60 so why waste the money? Also, the FX60 and 8800gts will be fine in 1 or 2 years, but I'm going to guess 'fine' isn't what you'll be wanting for how much you'll be blowing on it.

Don't upgrade the CPU.

At this point, do a video card upgrade and you'll notice drastic improvement. A CPU upgrade? Your computer may be a bit faster, but that's not what's bottlenecking your games at all.

yea, im think i gonna go for that ....

I overclock my winchester 3200+ to 2,45ghz with a zalman 7000 cu on it with good timing ram , so i gonna make the job for a couple of time...

Just need to check what video card gonna buy for my power supply dont toast:beer:!

Thx all for response!!!
