Need to take my xbox somewhere

Im going to take a LCD samsung monitor 20 inch and hook it up to my xbox via a hdmi to dvi adapter, After doing this:

hook the xbox to the AV receiver via composite and have audio from it playing
the AV receiver will only have 2 speakers and a sub so I figured i didint need the optical connection

I didnt want to pull everything out and then find out its not going to work

i haven't tried the setup you describe, but it seems like it makes sense.

if you don't mind going to a gamestop, you might want to get the vga cable: http://www.gamestop.com/Catalo....aspx?product_id=40681
it is only $10 used, direct out to vga, has red/white audio, and optical if you need it. this would be one cable, no hacks needed.

That should be fine but make sure your audio settings on your 360 are set to analog.
