Need to share 700 MBs of files free and painlessly

Someone needs to send me 700 MBs of 20 MB files and I don't want to ask them to install Dropbox if they don't want to. I think ideally I'd like to use my Skydrive but I don't know how to permit someone to upload.

Can someone suggest a free service that allows transfer of large files that will not require much of the sender (I think he's on a Mac while I'm on Windows 7 fwiw)?

TIA,
Ron

Upload to Jumbofiles or Mediafire, fast and painless.

Good suggestions. I wasn't familiar with either of those. But they require next to nothing of the sender which is what I asked for.

I think this guy is going to send me a CD-R. LOL.

Thanks,
Ron

I still use CD's from time to time. I still couldn't live without an optical drive. I can't see me going without one for a long time except with MAYBE a laptop.

I use Jumbofiles to send stuff to a buddy in the Philippines. Lots of the file hosts have sneaky restrictions to make money but Jumbofiles is very open and honest.

PROTIP: Registering for a free account gives you better download speeds.

You can make a direct link to your file from Dropbox. The recipient does not need to install or even register.

This. you make yourself a free account, upload into your public folder, send links, success. Put them in a folder and they'll even be able to download the whole thing in a single click.

700mb might need a dvd-r not cdr...

Google Drive might do it. Or run a private ftp server from your comp
