Need to run ethernet cable across the apartment...

Is there a place that sells little staple-shaped clip things that I could use? I need to run it along the floors/wall, and I cannot hide it under the carpeting due to apartment restrictions. I don't want to go wireless for several reasons. Are there any clips specifically designed for this available online anywhere? What have you guys done?

I would suggest going to the nearest home depot. They have several options for this sort of thing and I personally used something that is basically a nail with a U shaped plastic hook attached to run ethernet along the baseboards of the house I live in right now.

There's actually no home depot in my city.. :(

They're supposedly building one soon, but it's not here as of now. The computer store selection is terrible, all we have is Office Depot and Staples, and they carry very little that is actually good at a reasonable price. They pretty much carry hardware from 2 years ago at the price it sold for 2 years ago.

I'll try checking those places out, but I've never seen this kind of stuff in the past. I'd really like to find it online somewhere.

Don't use staples, use plastic duct.

Panduit (and others) have a small channel that cab be tacked or stuck to the wall or baseboards. You open it up, lay in the cable, close it, and you're good.

It's easy enough to remove when you leave the place. It's cosmetic, and you won't kill the propagation characteristics of the cabling like staples will.

Check your yellow pages for electrical / electronic suppliers (ot there's always Google and the Internet).

Good Luck

Does you apartment have floor molding? If it does, just shove the cable underneath it.

I second the suggestion for plastic ducting (aka. raceway). This is unobtrusive and fairly inexpensive... also protects your cords.
