Where can I find another "system32.exe" file. Mine was accidentally deleted, and it's not on the installation CD.

Thanks

Actually I believe that is a virus. It sounds like you got a virus, but then had it removed.

You don't need it. There is no system file called system32.exe. What you should do is go to the start menu, then run. Type msconfig and then enter.

Go to the startup tab and then uncheck the item that has the system32.exe file on it. But only remove that check mark. If you uncheck anything else, your computer might not boot anymore.

Windows is just trying to start the virus file at boot. You just need to remove the link to that file.

This is a great idea, but i can't find anything that references "system32.exe."

Is there a specific tab I should be under, and should I be looking for anything else?

Thanks buddy :)

Look around symantec's website for the virus that did that, and you'll be provided with detailed instructions on how to fix everything.
