Need to replace Radeon VIVO fan!

I have a Radeon VIVO card now, and it's all fine and dandy.
Except it's got a loud, LOUD, crappy fan. :|
What would you recommend for replacing it? I want as close to silence as possible!! I'm not going to overclock it.... would a massive heatsink be enough?

The original Radeon 64MB VIVO didnt run terribly hot when clocked at it's default 183/183, the fan was more for looks and to give the appearance of being a high performance card then for actual necessity.

As long as you don't intend to overclock, and your case isnt extremely hot to begin with you should be able to get away with just a medium HeatSink alone, and forego any fan altogether.

I definitely wouldnt overclock if you plan to go that route, but at stock clockspeed it's definitely viable.

If you remove the sticker on the fan, you can get at the fan pinion and put a bit of lube there, I did it to my noisey Radeon1 I still have and it worked.

I would definately prefer fanless, fewer fans = quiter. 😉 Then there's just getting rid of that old 6.4GB hard drive and replacing it with something new and quiet.
