The motherboard in my sister's computer died. Apparently while she was using her computer although that's not entirely clear.

It's an ECS k7vma with onboard sound/ video with a Duron 800 mhz.
Are there any known problems with that board?

Unless it can be fixed, I'll need to replace it with something. Any suggestions?
It needs to be very stable, overclocking not important.
SDRAM
Onboard sound/video optional.

thanks in advance for your help

Newegg has a biostar m7vig board with onboard sound and video that uses either sdram or ddram (not both at the same time) for $66 with free shipping. I would also be sure the power supply is not the source of the problem before replacing just the board. If you need one, I recommend the sparkle 300 watt for $33 shipped.

I actually just replaced the the power supply. My sister's in college and she had plugged her computer into the same outlet as the window A/C unit. Even though the motherboard worked after that, could it have been 'weakened' and then failed at a later date?

When I turned the computer on, the hardrives and fans spun up. So I know the power supply is working enough to do that. Could a power supply work enough to power everything but bad enough for the computer to not post?

Thanks for the help.
