Need to replace CPU fan/heatsink on an older PC

My current system is about four years old. It includes:

ASUS A7V266-E motherboard
AMD Athlon XP 2100+ Palomino

The current CPU fan/heatsink is a Thermaltake volcano 7 RT. It sounds like an airliner is taking off when I turn on my computer.

I want to replace this fan with something cool, but more importantly silent. My major concern is compatibility. I believe I need a fan compatible with socket A. When I search newegg I see options for Socket A, and also things like Socket 478 / A, Socket 370 / A, etc. Will all fans under these options be compatible with my setup. If anyone can give me any recommendations (models/brands) or point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated. TIA.
