Howdy guys....I have a system that I need to replace a dual socket 370 mobo. Any ideas/suggestions?

I have been looking at the Tyan Tiger 230T (S2507T) Motherboard

I prefer not to go with a Via chipset, but that only leaves me with ServerWorks ......which, yes, is awesome, but at the same time costs a TON!

Thanks for any ideas...

In my limited experience with SMP boards, I've found that Tyan products in general are very solid and reliable. But do you really want to stay with P3/Xeon technology? I can imagine that you might want to do so in order to use your old RAM. However, why not leap to 3GHZ+ with hyperthreading and DDR or RDRAM? I realize that hyperthreading doesn't result in quite the boost with some applications that you get with two separate processors, but it might be very worthwhile to step up to the next generation.

How about one of these: Supermicro Serverworks chipset, $270. If you think $270 is expensive, then consider what server downtime costs :D

Then again, my VIA-based dual-P3 was very stable under extreme load (896Mb RAM + 700Mb swap file in use, both CPUs at 100% load for 36 hours of rendering... that's extreme in my book anyway :)). I don't think companies like Tyan and Supermicro would build with the VIA chipset if they couldn't make a good one.

Why not VIA. They have AGP ports and support either DDR or SDRAM. All the best street dual 370's seem to have VIA's newwest chip.
