Hey guys,

I'm hiring someone to refinish my wood floors. I gotta move all my furniture out of my house. What's the cheapest solution for storing my furniture outside and possibly have someone move it for me?

I looked at PODS but it seems you can only rent per month, i need a week at most.

I'm also thinking about just renting a UHAUL truck and just keeping the truck there for the duration i need to.

And i might want to hire someone to move all this crap as well, but not sure where i can get a cheap labor to do this that i can trust to not **** me over.

Uhaul has a pod-like system also. I think something like that will be the most economical. You could maybe get a garbage container that fully opens on the end, and put a tarp over it. Bonus is you can get rid of crap once your furniture is back. Rent access to your neighbors to recover some money(semi serious)

Do you need to rent storage from PoDs? why not contract them to drop off one of their containers on your lawn, load it up and wait a week, then call them back "...eh, I decided not to move after all. Now come pick up your equipment by next week or you will hear from my lawyer." :hmm:

How about one of those Shelter-Logic storage buildings? They're around $300-$400 for a 12x20x8. Some free pallets from a local business and you'll have plenty of storage space. Resell as soon as your floors are done. Should be able to resell it for about 2/3 of the original price, so $100 out of pocket in the long run.

Ask one of your poor, desperate neighbors? Someone must be willing to park outside the garage for a few weeks for the right amount.
