If it was my disk, I'd try one of the many commercial data recovery applications. I own "GetDataBack", so I'd try that one first, but there are a couple of well-liked ones out there. These all run from a separate hard disk, so they don't write to the damaged hard disk. Writing to the damaged (logical or physical) hard disk is a bad idea.
Note that the commercial ones are not free. They'll scan and tell you what can be recovered. You are required to register your copy to actually recover the data.
