Need to reconnect USB antenna to prompt it to work?

I use an USB antenna with sim card. It works as it should for a time and then all of a sudden the connection, or bandwidth, idk how to phrase it, stops for a time to then burst to the supposed speed for a short time and so on.Thats best visible on youtube. Also get constant DCs from online games etc.

I tried reconnecting to see how it would react and in fact as soon as i reconnect it it does work as it should, only for a certain amount of time though.

Its also not constant, in the long term, in fact it works as it should most of the time with this issue appearing randomly.

Anyway, i wondered if anyone has an idea on what could be causing that issue?

I had this "burst" behavior using two different WIFI USB adapters. I think it's my router which is 10 years old now that is the culprit. Although, it's flashed with DD-WRT so that could also be an issue. Not sure. Funny thing is the laptop and smartphone make a connection just fine.

Is your router old and/or does it have the latest firmware?

Hey, thx for the reply.

The device(Huwei E3131) has been bought recently and I did check the official site for firmware updates as you suggested but there isnt any. I do not use a router, btw if you will, is there any benefit in using one, except sharing the bandwidth through wifi?

Considering the fact that it does work upon reconnecting, and in your case that it did work without issues on other devices i guess it might be some issue with the pc.

My mobo(Z170 pro gaming) has a "tool" called Gamefirst which "prioritizes game-related packets and allocates more bandwidth to games" , idk, it may be bugged?
