so here's the deal. someone needs to send me money, but they're in australia and they can only pay by credit card, as paypal bank->bank requires a US bank.

i can't accept it through paypal cause i'd have to upgrade my account and its just not feasible that i pay the 3% or whatever for every single transaction on that, cause my dad sends me tuition fees through that account and i'd end up paying >>$300 just in fees for that, which is complete BS.

how can i accept a one-time credit card payment or something?

i don't mind signign up for some service that takes off a couple percent for every credit card transaction (differs from paypal cause paypal would charge me for EVERY transaction including bank to bank). but i refuse to pay some hefty one time set up fee or something.

You can downgrade your account twice, so in theory you could upgrade & then downgrade once you received it.

How much money are you talking about here?

Edit: (As in one Personal, one Premier/Business)

Either that, or upgrade current Paypal acct, accept payment, do the one-time downgrade back to personal account.

Another option might be for the person to go to their bank and do a cash advance on their credit card, then wire transfer that money into your bank account.
