So I thought I would ask some of the women and married men on this forum. I need a silver blue sapphire promise ring. But I have no idea where to start looking. Its hard to find specific promise rings to begin with. Additionally all the sapphires tend to be pink and I definitely need blue. Any suggestions? I can reply tonight... Its incredibly late.. Thank you guys.

Get whatever you see at your local Costco. Cheap and you can return easy if your girlie hates it.

Aren't promise rings those things girls wear to "promise" they won't have sex until marriage?

If so, god-speed.

I dont have a Costco :p I live pretty far out... The nearest place with big stores would be Tallahassee Florida... about an hour drive from here... darn.. exam tomorrow, gotta go to bed, but thank you for the suggestion. I do agree Id rather see it in person than buy online and not know fully what im getting.

A promise of a new level of the relationship (Just go with me on this one, im not about to go into details but its been a looooong wait). It can also stand for abstinence as we are both Christian so yes, there will not be any pre-marrital sex, even if we dont work out.

A promise ring is just any old ring, check out local mom and pop stores and I bet you can find something. Pawn shops are also good places for cheap rings and stuff.

Boys gave girls a pin for going steady and exclusive when I went to college. Something personal of sentamental value.

Edit: How about one of those two halves of a heart necklaces. Girls love those. Put a sapphire chip on hers.

just depends on your price range as to where to shop for one, no problem with buying something inexpensive, as long as you both understand the meaning of the item, thats what matters

well I homeschool. I dont receive jackets or class rings etc. Something of sentimental value would be something i purchased for her.. Shes a down to earth girl.. If I payed $400 for a ring instead of being happy shed be pissed. Im not asking for the biggest gem you can stick on a piece of metal, merely something to show that i do care... and that i am serious.

I was under the impression that it was to signify the intention to become engaged at some point.

Indeed it can. When worn on the right hand. Left hand signifies promise. Yeah... theres formality to rings too XD

I had thought about that as well and may just do that. But after prying secretively, im pretty sure she prefers a ring to a necklace.

Guess I'm not much of a ring guy. I have one on my left hand and I'm not totally sure what it means.

Ah, apparently I misunderstood this kind of ring. If you haven't clicked on any of my links (despite my comment at the end ;)), don't. I think the cheapest is like $900.

The promise ring's design is up to the giver. If you've been told to get a certain ring this is your signal to run like hell, lol.

I said lol but I wish I was joking. :(

link. The area under "Meaning of Diamond Promise Rings" In our cirsumstances it can count for all three values, although this ring will signify a higher level than just "going steady".

Lol, I was not. This is careful planning after prying information from her from our long relationship.
