Need to power up an old cell phone - what to do?

I have an older Samsung phone with the AC adapter - the phone lights up and says "charging" when plugged in, but when I try to power on the phone, nothing. With or without AC adapter.

Any off chance I might be able to get into the phone and recover some phone numbers?

that's cause i havent traded on FS/T in a while and have since deleted my old email account...anyways, so how would i get into the cell phone?
