Need to Plug Computer Speakers into X-Box 360, all I need is this right?

My X-Box 360 is now plugged into a computer LCD monitor using a HDMI cable, but the monitor does not have speakers and I need sound. The cheapest way to get good sound I'm guessing is to use computer speakers so I'm guessing all I need is the connector pictured below, right?

2 x RCA Male / 1 x 3.5mm Stereo Female, Y-Cable, 6 inch

I'm going to plug the adapter you see below into the X-Box 360 port, and then the 2x RCA Male to 3.5mm Stereo Female adapter in the previous picture will plug into it. Then my computer speakers will plug into the female 3.5mm stereo port. Should work right?

That is exactly what I use, just be mindful that if you switch video inputs on your TV/monitor or turn off your TV/monitor, your 360 will restart. Its a quirk that comes with using that adapter (or anything else that goes into that port) and HDMI at the same time.

This is how I've always had my elite hooked up, and I'm pretty sure I've never run into this issue.

Yea, it happens when you have two inputs in (HDMI+AV Cable/Adapter), the 360 wants to switch to the AV Cable. Although because some don't have this problem, I think it's dependent on your monitor/tv.

Ok cool, I shouldn't run into that problem though since the X-Box 360 is the only thing plugged into the LCD and I never switch inputs.

So far I haven't noticed the Xbox turning off when I turn the LCD monitor off.

Might also be the AV cable/adapter that you use. The official MS one that is supposed to go with the HDMI cable is supposed to not do that. Both the AV cables that came with the 360 and a 3rd party audio-only adapter I later bought and had hoped would solve the problem give me the problem.
