My choices, APC only:

Power bar style:
http://www.apc.com/products/family/index.cfm?id=21&tab=models
350va == $65, 500va == $90, whatever warranty the store offers + possible APC warranty.
(from a staples/busines depot like store)

"Block" style:
http://sturgeon.apcc.com/techref.nsf/umanuals/C372066C455BE3288525674400792AF6?OpenDocument
350va == $100, 30day warranty (dunno what APC offers).
(from my store, but I think this thing's been sitting around anywhere from 1-4months, possibly longer, everybody seems to go for the other genericy and cheaper 700va UPS we have)

Discuss :)

I think there are better deals around. I paid $118 for a Back UPS PRO 1100 from Sams Club. You may also want to consider getting a APC PRO or Smart UPS so it has AVR to protect your computer from power sags or small surges. There was a similar thread this weekend. Do a search for UPS.

I believe the brand Conext is the "home" brand of the APC, purchased mine about a year ago and haven't had a single problem, and it was even a few bucks cheaper than it's APC sibling

i should mention, i purchased a powerbar ups from wal-mart (i should mention it wasn't apc) and it didn't even work

i would stay to stick with a traditional block backup. i mean, really, how in th hell do they fit the components in the block into the powerbar?

stick with what works :)

True, the shape is kinda wierd, but I do like the fact it has the transformer style outlets, it "officially" supports OS'es > 98, and there's a pretty good chance it hasn't been sitting around for a while like the Pro has very likely been.
