Need to partition CF card

I have an 8GB CF card I want to partition into smaller chunks so I can stick it into an older digital camera I have. I can't seem to do it. My computer sees the card as a removable drive, but I can't partition it using partition magic or disk management. In disk management I have the option to format the drive, and it formats just fine, but the options to extend, shrink or delete the volume are grayed out. What can I do? TIA

Thanks for your help. I tried that method before without much luck. I actually downloaded the mini tool partition wizard home, and unlike the full program, it worked just fine. So if anyone stumbles across this while googling, give that program a shot. It is freeware.
