need to open port help

I need to open my 6881 port with a netgear WRG614 router. How do I do this? I am in the router setup in the prot forwarding ut is asking for to man numbers and I just have the last 4 numbers that need.


This is the message I get
unable to connect to incoming data port (67.163.194.6881 )

What is my server IP address? Is that the IP address of the computer I am trying to use to download to. If so how would I find the ip address.

The "server" is the IP address of the computer you are using.

To see this number -

1) click "start"
2) click "run"
3) type in "cmd" and hit enter
4) this will open up a command prompt...type in "ipconfig" and hit enter
5) look and see what it lists for the IP address
6) write down or rember the address and type in "exit" and hit enter to close the cmd prompt

It will say something along the lines of 192.168.0.2 or 192.168.1.2. What it lists for the IP is the address you would plug in for the server.

These steps are assuming you are using Windows XP or Windows 2000.

This is also under the assumption that your ISP/University isn't blocking the common Bit Torrent ports.

Thank you guys very much. I also found it in the control panel under internet connection then chose the lan connection and it is there also.
