Need to make toast without a toaster - oven or stove top?

Use the broiler setting on your oven, and place the toast on a pan on the rack closest to the broiler. Flip halfway through to achieve browning on both sides.

Edit: If you have a gas range, you may have to toast directly on the oven racks, since the broiler is probably on the bottom. Electric ranges usually have the broiler at the top.

Sweeet.. Thanks coaster!

I'd say the broiler as well. Just like making that frozen garlic bread. Can ehat it for a bit to heat it up and then put it up by the broiler to get it toasty brown.

Depending on what you want added to your toast.

To just toast bread, a frying pan on the stove is more economical.

Iron skillet on the stove top. Oven broiler is a waste of time and energy unless your toasting alot of bread.

Almost as difficult as boiling water😕

started with the broiler but it took too long so I went the stove top route..

Yes, yes - I'll get a toaster tomorrow... I just rarely toast!

Put a little butter and make it grilled.
