I still can't decide between the DFI Ultra-D or the Abit AN8. The DFI is probably the better board, but I'm scared to buy it because I've heard of all these problems getting it running, and it seems complex to get running also. This is my first build and the Abit has alot of noob friendly features like OC guru flashmenu and the LED readout. If you were in my position what would you get and why?
 
get the DFI. once you realize what you bought, you'll be glad you got it instead of the A8N. I like to try and figure things out for myself anyways.

Most errors are user errors, perople that dont know how to really set up a comp. Jst get the Dfi and stop thinking its a good mother board. Both my friends have abit and they dont want it anymore. They have a lot of problems with them. Do not go abit, Go dfi.
 
LOL, as for either ultra or sli dr, I believe that you should go with what ever one you feel like getting. I myself am getting the Sli-Dr i like it becuz of a lot of features it has and that its a good baord. Good job on picking Dfi 🙂 You have picked well 🙂
 
Well I happen to have an abit fatal1ty an8 and it rocks. I also installed a dfi ultra-d into my sons machine and it rocks. I have a msi k8n neo4 plat that is a pos so go figure. The original mb went bad quickly and then the replacement lasted a week before it began to act up which is why I bought the dfi.
 
Dude just freaking get the Dfi that is one freaking person, JUST GET IT!!! NOW!!! ITS A GOOD MOTHERBOARD!!!! GET IT!!!!
