Need to learn PC-based audio

I'm in over my head a bit. We got a EMU 0404 sound card and it comes with PatchMix DSP, WaveLab Lite, CuBase LE (and some other apps I don't need to use).

We have it hooked up to the output of our 16-channel Mackie mixer board and I need to learn how to use (primarily) PatchMix DSP to record/playback live bands. I'm fine with the mixer itself.

Can anyone recommend sites that would help me understand the vast complexity of PatchMix DSP or just the basic concepts of this type of setup I need to understand?

I have managed to get it to record to a WAV but I can't get it to playback through the PC (headphone jack). I'm running the sound card outputs back to the mixer for playback but that's not ideal.

Wow um, a forum isn't exactly the best place to learn this stuff. About the only tip I'm going to give you is, is the output a line or a mic level and is the EMU properly configured for the aforementioned signal.
