I am a physician in a 8 member group. We are finally putting together a true server based network with the help of our outsourced IT guy. I need to learn all I can. I'm very interested in computers and have built 3 now for myself. Because of this, the other physicians have put me in charge of purchasing the computers and hardware under the assistance of our IT guy. We are going with Dell computers. We are also in the process of setting up digital xray and will have a second network of viewing stations. Some will be more powerful for viewing critically by the physicians, others will be lower quality for showing to patients.
We are also consolidating our internet access. Currently, we just use dial up on the computers where internet access is necessary. Once the network is up, we want to go to dsl or cable with internet sharing.
I would just like to know what some good sources for learning about these types of things on the internet. Any good websites? I don't really know what to actually ask, I need to learn to even know what to ask.
