Hi all Y'all, (and I'm not even from Texas)
Just need to know for sure if I can drop newegg's 90 dollar wonder, the XP 2100+ into my Abit KT7a and run it on the 266Mhz bus? I'm running a 1 Gig Athlon on 133 bus now, but would like to upgrade for photoshop and future games (I'll be getting GeForce 4 or something later - God willing). Anyone know if I can do this? And just how much faster would this baby be? Right now my 1 Gig Athlon gets it butt kicked by my G4 667 TiBook, and since Apple is out of it for about another year now because of their chip problems, I was thinking of crossing over to the pc side for a year for my large file Photoshop work.
I've read the specs on the Abit board, and I know is "says" 1.4 Ghz is all that's supported, but is that written in stone? Or are there cases where it works anyway?
Thanks in advance, you guys have really been helpful these last few days.
GS
