Need to know what processor, Grpahics and RAM chip to get for Windows XP computer

I'm taking my old Gaming PC to my local computer repair shop tomorrow to buy a new processor, graphics card, and RAM chips for it to make it faster. I need to know what processor and RAM chips i should buy for it. The specs for my Computer are:

System: Windows Xp Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3

Computer: Intell Pentium processor 451 MHz, 320 MB of RAM

Graphics card: 3D Rage Pro AGP 2X

I bought the PC at a yard sale back in the summer of 2010, i don't really know much about it and i'm not really the best when it comes to computer parts. I just want to be able to watch Youtube videos, get on Facebook, and play old video games. I can run this website with no problems at all, just a little bit slow.
 
Honestly, if you are going to buy parts for that machine, you might as well just get a completely new inexpensive
computer unless you can get older used parts for a good price (and that actually work). Or just buy a 2-3 year old used computer for $100 or so and have a MUCH better computer than what you have now.
 
That's probably a Pentium III, or even a Pentium II, which is nearly 15 years old now. Getting parts (even memory) for that machine would be expensive, and you'd still end up with a dog slow machine by modern standards.

I don't know enough about your machine to be able to recommend specific parts, but let's give it the benefit of the doubt and assume it's a Pentium III, which was one of the last 450MHz processors in the line. Unfortunately, it was also one of the last to use the Slot 1 interface to the motherboard. Anything newer, even a Pentium 4, would require a different processor socket. A different processor socket means a new motherboard. And a new motherboard almost certainly means different RAM, and probably a newer power supply and graphics card.

I know it seems wasteful to just throw the machine away, but you're really at a dead end with that machine. Any meaningful upgrade to it will require you to replace basically everything but the cheap metal case that holds the parts. And if you're doing that, you may as well start fresh. Or look for another deal on a used machine, which can often be the best bargain if you don't need the very latest tech!
 
You should be able to get a full build that will blow that computer away, for around $350ish on classifieds. Anything newer than c2d/am2 will be worlds better.

Check craigslist, local e-waste recycler. Also, local schools will regularly throw out full pentium 4 computers, so see if you can pick one of those up.
 
That machine would do well as a print server. But if you're going to spend money, it would be better on a more modern rig. A Core 2 Duo or Phenom II would be an immense upgrade.
 
Can you take a pic of the insides of the computer and post it? I'm curious (and a fan of legacy systems).
 
I thought the OP was a necro. No way would someone these days be running something that ancient. (And I do mean *ancient*.)

Might be good for running some old DOS games, possibly even some Windows 95/98se-era games. (Although OP said it was running XP, amazingly enough.)

But realistically, you should get a cheap all-in-one mobo/GPU/CPU board, and a cheap micro-ATX case+PSU, and some RAM, and an SSD, and then you would have a modern, workable system.
