Need to know how to enable AA and AF on an ATI Radeon 9800

So I just got a Radeon 9800 (a bare Dell pull) the other day and I'm playing around with it using the Catalyst 3.6 drivers/ATI Control Panel on my Athlon rig (using an ASUS A7N8X-X). I'm usually pretty adept with the new cards but there are a bunch of things that have me stumped on this one.

I'm still unclear how to do a lot of stuff in the drivers. Since I've always been a half-generation back, I never cared to figure out how to get Anisotripic Filtering and especially AA running.

I can tell plainly enough how to enable Aniso in the drivers (it's right there in the D3D/OpenGL pages), but how do I switch between "performance" AF and "quality" AF like Anand an other reviewers do? Also, where is the toggle to enable Antialiasing? I can see the smootvision settings for Direct 3D and OpenGL, but where is the AA?

What kind of settings should I be using for Texture Preference and Mipmap detail? Is there a tangible difference between "quality" and "high quality", and is there a big performance hit?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! AnandAustin and co. , I need your help!

right click on desktop -> properites -> setting tab -> click advanced -> direct3d for the direct3d AA/FSAA setting or OpenGL tab for the opengl AA/FSAA settings

Thanks. I forgot to mention in the post that I'm not retarded. I know how to get to the display settings, but in Catalyst 3.6 (at least for me), Antialiasing settings are nowhere to be found. Also, the Anisotropic filtering is clearly marked under both OGL and D3D, but it's unclear how to change between "performance" AF and "quality" AF.

This is what I have under there:

Main Settings (performance/quality).

______________________________________

Custom Settings

Anisotropic Filtering (slider from 0X to 16X but no mention of "performance" AF or "quality" AF anywhere

Smoothvision (2X to 6X, with a performance/quality setting)

____________________________

Texture Preference

Mipmap Preference

...

^no Antialiasing settings anywhere there ...

is this the same for you?

AA is not hidden in standard ATi drivers for me. Its right there in the control panel. This has been the case with every driver I've used.

Just FYI dell 9800's have been know to overclock REALLY well they come with the same ram as the 9800 pro. Also I use rtools that was included with the omega drivers to change AA I think its the best way to change it.

The Radeons need a Game Starting Utility! That's one of the advantages I had with my Voodoo5 5500, there were a number of Utilities that were able to customize graphic settings depending on the game.

Some games can handle max eyecandy, while others can't, but as it is now if one wants to maximize their games they need to do it manually each time. blech :(
