need to help my bro (broke up with his girlfriend)

Aimster

Lifer
Okay so like my younger brother who is 18 just broke up with his first serious girlfriend and he is pretty miserable right now locked in his room sleeping and probably crying (according to my parents he is crying).
What should I do?
Girls think my brother is hot but he is kind of shy and replacing his girlfriend will be hard since they played video games together and watched anime movies .. he likes asian girls.. I dont know any asian girls so I can't really him help that way.

If I take him out to eat he will just think about her and wish she was there or think about the memories they had when they went out.

What can I do? Leave him alone..? I can't do that.. I can try to talk to him but I have a feeling he won't listen to me. He has a bunch of lovey dovey crap on his profile saying love can be worked out.. he has her picture as his buddy icon.. He needs to take that crap off ASAP... never chase after a girl who broke up with you, period. That's how it should be and me telling him this probably wont help either.. He should never of even let her know he was so into her.. another mistake he did.. but you learn as you get hurt and hurt others...

I'm stuck guys I need some advice.
Thanks

Take him to an asian massage spa?

Seriously, just let him get it out of his system. They wouldn't write so many songs about breaking up if it were easy to do.

you are a nice brother. at least see if he wants to talk to you and then ask him if he wants to get out of the house and do something.

you are right, he wont listen, but thats to be expected. the only thing you are going to be able to do is try to take his mind off of it and let him sort it out himself. if he truly wants to pursue, nothing anyone does will change that, and you know that is true. it speaks volumes of your character to want to help him, but if you want my honest opinion, and ive been in this same position or on the other end of it, just try to do something that doesnt involve thinking/talking about girls and he will be fine in a week.

I don't know could be a lot of reasons..
main reason is college. She goes to a very nice school 45minutes away and he goes to a community college. He also doesn't have a car and that could of been a problem.

None of this stuff should MATTER, but these are just my guesses.

I just think she met someone at her school , that simple, who probably had a nice car and went to her school.

There's nothing you can do that will solve his emotional distress; all you can do is help distract him. He needs friends right now.

Nothing much is going to help other than time. Best thing is to not bring anything up. Talk with him, try to get his mind off of it but wait until he brings it up before talking about it.

for crying out loud, he's 18...people that age take stuff like that way to hard. smack some sense into him, tell him to quit being a freakin pansy and take him to a strip joint.

Well what did you want people to do for you when you broke up with your first love?

Hung out with friends and that helped a lot. The minute they were gone I was miserable again. Really nothing anyone can do... :-(

The real cure is the find someone else and then you will look back and laugh. People always want their first love to last. They have strong hope and expectations that it will. It never will and usually your first love is not all that great. The only reason one makes that person so great in their eyes is because they are just that, their "first". You don't know any better and you don't know less. You have nothing to compare it to so you will think it is perfect.

I'm not saying it is not possible to marry your first love or still not be friends with them after you break up. I am just speaking from my own experience. If any of you married your first love then I am really happy for you that it worked out.

Asshole. You've obviously never had a serious girlfriend.
